Take Responsibility for your Choices

You are in charge of your own life. There is only one person who is keeping you from the gym or is choosing to eat unhealthy foods. Yup, it's you. Deal with it. Acknowledge it and own up to the fact that you, and you alone, are responsible. But buyer beware... if you own this, and I mean truly own it, then you can no longer be a victim to outside circumstances. This can be daunting, and it is also exciting. If you can make unhealthy choices you can also make healthy ones. It's all up to you, you already have all the tools right inside of you. It is that simple.

Intrinsic Trumps Extrinsic For Long Term Change

Wow, it's the New Year, a wedding is around the corner, or perhaps it's a reunion: there's always some reason to lose weight and get fit, I'm sure. But, as motivating as these moments are to get to work and lose weight, they are only moments. It's now May, the wedding has passed, and you have proved yourself at the reunion. What motivation do you have now? Turn your efforts into a lifelong journey rather than another fast fix. Find a more powerful internal reason such as... I want to live a healthy and happy life...I want to be a good role model for my children...I am ready to make a lifelong change for myself and those I love that will last. Surround yourself with friends who have healthy habits…

Find A Motivational Group

Surround yourself with the very people you want to be like and may have felt uncomfortable with in the past. It's a lot easier to make changes in your own life when you are surrounded by people who are up to the same things as you. Find people to go to the gym with, hike with, go to a vegan restaurant with... They will be delighted to have another person on their team, I assure you.

Your Mind-set Is EVERYTHING

When Jim Carrey arrived in Los Angeles he immediately wrote himself a check for a million dollars. He focused on this check every single day saying, "This is mine". Look at him now.

Don't look at how far you have to go or how hard it is. Imagine you in your new body every morning when you wake up and every night before you go to sleep. Tape pictures of the perfect body and perfect life in prominent places in y

our home. Know that you will achieve your goals and you will reach them that much faster. Everyone has a problem with something about their bodies. Here is food for thought, the last time you saw two trees together, did you stand there and analyze, "Well, that one has a fatter trunk," or, "That one is too skinny". I doubt it. One of two things happened, either you love trees and took them both in as a beautiful part of nature, or, you could care less, ignored them, and went on your way.

Put It On Autopilot

JUST GET THERE!!!

'Program your destination' by deciding on your goals.

'Plan your route' and the means you will take to reach your destination.

And just drive! Don't get distracted by the 'exits' and 'roadside attractions' of life.

Get a Journal

Keep detailed logs of your exercise and eating habits. This will keep you motivated and informed along your journey.
