Supplements
Why take them?
There are many reasons to take food supplements. For one, in our busy
lives today we simply neglect our bodies' need for nutrients. Supplements
are a great way to ensure that our bodies are getting what they need to
function optimally even when we are not eating as well as we would like.
Another reason to supplement is that the food we eat today does not have
the same nutrient content as it did 30 years ago. We are not getting all
of what we need from the food we ingest and we are ingesting more toxins
than ever before. Organic food is a step in the right direction, and even
then, the earth does not always have the desired levels of minerals and
nutrients available. It takes the average organic farmer six to eight
years to return the soil to it's original composition.
Also, while recovering from an injury or a specific health complaint, our
bodies may require added assistance in the form of supplements. It does
not mean that we have to take the supplement for a long time, but it may
be beneficial for a period of time until our body gains its healthy
balance.
What to take?
A good ORGANIC, WHOLE FOOD supplement is a great start.
Flax seed and Fish Oils are a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids. These
oils are great for the joints and the mind. Over eight percent of our
brains are made from Omega-3s. The fish oil replenishes these Omega-3s and
the flax seed oil helps the body produce them.
Up to 5000mg of Vitamin C is also a great daily supplement. Look for one
that is time release and that contains bio-flavenoids. Your body will only
absorb so much Vitamin C at one time and the bio-flavenoids are necessary
for proper utilization of the C.
Spirulina is an amazing super food. It is a complete food source
containing protein, vitamins, minerals, chlorophyl, and Omega-6 fatty
acids in a synergistic blend as designed by nature in an extremely
easy-to-digest format.
How Much to Take?
Start with the recommended dose on the label and be willing to experiment.
Because our bodies get bombarded on a daily basis with an amazing amount
of stress and toxins, some days you may feel like upping your doses. Be
willing to play around and see what works for you.

Are Supplements dangerous?
Over the past 23 years, there have been approximately 10 people suspected
of dying from vitamins. In that same length of time the number of people
who have died from taking prescription drugs, as prescribed, is over 2
million. What do you think?
